2. Help us donate clothes and gifts to our CARE Schools through their wishlist items. Our students deserve to have a wonderful holiday season filled with games to keep their minds and hearts stimulated!

3. Last month, we released a CARE DC impact report. Learn more about our amazing programs and support us as we continue to make a difference in our public schools.

On December 17th, we are holding an Open House to highlight the support we give to our CARE Brookland schools! All are welcome to:

• Celebrate our immediate wins and connect with our visionary educators in our E.A.T. program. And gather with us as a CARE community as we work towards a more equitable future for our Black and Brown students!

• Learn about CARE Brookland’s upcoming projects and take a look at the inspiring future we envision. Join us in the hard work of transforming Brookland’s public education.

• Donate wishlist items to our CARE schools and support the work of the movement!

Gather with us from 6-8pm at 3104 18th St NE to celebrate the holidays!

School Wishlists

Across Brookland, our amazing educators and administrators find ways to support their students, even outside of school. At CARE Brookland, we understand the crucial roles schools play at the centers of our communities.

Our wonderful CARE schools need your help to support their students as we go into the winter break. Below are some of the common items wishlists for some of our schools:

If you would like to donate some of these items, please bring them to our Open House on the 17th! Help us support our schools and our students!

Note: A local church has stepped forward to support a fatherhood initiative with Noyes Elementary School fathers. Every connection you build strengthens the fabric of our village and ensures that children have the support they deserve. Keep it up!

CARE, in Numbers

Big Impacts, Small Report

Last month, CARE DC released Numbers that Speak Truth. This report is a snapshot of the CARE Brookland & CARE Anacostia’s community impact.

Our core programs Hopes & Dreams, Power Our Schools, and our Educator Advancement Teams have engaged educators, inspired students, and strengthened our community. By the numbers, our programs have:

• Connected with 700+ community members.

• Mobilized 100 volunteers for our neighborhood schools.

• Implemented 10 school projects, ensuring our educators and students get the support they deserve.

This report proves that our strategies work. CARE Brookland is a movement for our students and for our communities. We are all working hard and together, we are making a difference. And we’re just getting started.

When CARE Brookland works, our neighborhood wins. Supporting our missions means building power for our village and working for a better future for our kids through our schools.
